Jesus began a very successful word of mouth communications campaign over 2000 years ago. Imagine what it would have been like if He’d had all the tools to communicate a message that we do now: websites, newspapers, facebook, blogs, twitter, email, cell phones etc. Imagine what church could be like if we maximized our use of these gifts to speak to our members and the world? come find out on February 4th, 2012

This year's Learn and Lead will tackle the issue of communicating successfully in the 21st century, and will provide practical, hands-on information so that you can return to your home church with concrete ideas about how to effectively and cost effectively strengthen community within your church’s current membership, as well as outside of it.

The day will begin with keynote speaker Nancy Davidge, Editor of the Episcopal Church Foundation’s Vestry Papers publication, and President of the board of the nationalEpiscopal Communicators’ Group.

Nancywill be followed by a choice of workshops. Topics will include how to cost-effectively build and manage stellar websites, email newsletters (Constant Contact), social media best practices, making the most of printed newsletters, service bulletins, and even Sunday morning announcements and welcoming plans.

This year the Learn & Lead event will be a guest of AIPSO in Johnston, who have graciously invited us to use their facility so that we can have internet connectivity available to do live training. Participants are encouraged to bring their laptops as well as copies of any print newsletters and Sunday bulletins.

Registration:

Individuals are welcome, but we are offering a 25% discount to churches that register more than 5 participants at once, and a 50% discount if your church registers 10 people, so come with a group! This is a great opportunity for your vestry as well as other ministry leaders in your parish.
